It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting global citizenship and leadership development through Model United Nations (MUN) programmes. Our foundation was founded in 2021 with a vision of creating opportunities for students to engage in MUN activities, develop critical thinking skills, and build cross-cultural understanding.
As the founder of the DMUN Foundation, I was inspired to create this organisation after seeing the transformative power of MUN in the lives of young people. Having participated in MUN as a student myself, I witnessed firsthand the impact that it can have on one's personal and professional growth. MUN teaches valuable skills such as public speaking, research, negotiation, and diplomacy, which are essential for success in today's globalised world.
However, I also saw that MUN was not accessible to all students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. I wanted to create an organisation that would provide high-quality MUN programmes to students who might not have had the opportunity to participate otherwise. I also wanted to create a platform for cross-cultural exchange and understanding, where students from different countries and backgrounds could come together to learn from each other.
Since our founding, the DMUN Foundation has grown tremendously, reaching students from all over the world and creating a global network of MUN practitioners and educators. We have organised numerous MUN conferences and programmes, brought enriching experiences to thousands of youths across the world, and nurtured the next generation of chairs, secretariats, and volunteers.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but we also recognise that there is much more work to be done. We remain committed to our mission of promoting global citizenship and leadership development by expanding from the boundaries of MUN and going further with the entire concept of educational activities.
I want to thank all of our supporters, volunteers, and partners for their invaluable contributions to the DMUN Foundation. Your support has been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals and making a difference in the lives of so many students around the world.
